Dell XPS 430,8GB ram, Vista 64/32bit

I ran my first disk cleanup yesterday.  I had a sub file in a folder in Documents. It is gone. When I search for the files that were in there it says they are in THAT file where I left it. When I click on one of the items in the list  a pop up says...... "Information Not Available". Did I toss it out with the temp files or did I move it accidently? How can I find those files if they are still there?

This is the only real problem I have had so far and I just hope it wasn't my fault ........I will feel mighty silly.......And I wanted those files too......lol
