    Hi Slwince,
I can't remember what my problem was - memory !
However using a old machine to go to Vista can cause
a lot of problems. Core, Drivers, Special requirements
of hardware to conform to Vista, Software. American car
manufacturers used to have a planned obsolesce
philosophy. Buy a new car every 2 years. Well (in my
opinion) Microsoft has the same philosophy. By a new
computer every 3 or 4 years.

I use my Old Dell primarily for my wife's E-mail and not
much else. I back up the Windows 98 2nd ed regularily
with Acronis Trueimage. This has bailed me out several
times. When and only when the computer has a major
problem will I junk the machine.

    I hope this helps.
    JPS

Just curious, what was you problem w/ Win98 SE?  I am trying to upgrade my Win98SE to Win XP SP2 and I am just getting no where with it.  MS tech tells me its my computer that is the problem.  I know I have enough memory (512) and Disk space.

    Anyone who can help???

Still can't find my original post for this thread.
But I think I was having trouble with Spellcheck in Outlook Express.
The solution can be found at this site:
