Windows XP Installed - DVD decoder problem??

I just purchased a new inspiron 6000 with Windows XP home edition.  The DVD player worked fine. I installed XP professional and now the DVD player won't work and I get an error message "PL4013" suggesting a problem with the DVD decoder.  I can't make it work.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Give me a minute and let me do some resarch about the error code...

*EDIT* Could you please tell me the DVD player brand? (ie: Windows Media Player, Cyberlink Power DVD)

*EDIT* Ted, I am sorry, but in order to get the best solution; I need to know what brand of DVD player you are using

Thanks for trying to help. I discovered that in upgrading from XP Home to XP professional somehow the entire DVD decoder package was erased.  So, I went on line and bouth the intervideo WinDVD Platinum package, downloaded it and it works fine.  I hope this helps anyone else similarly situated.
