XP - lost internet options

I have lost my internet options button... Any idea how?  What can I do to get it back?

Do you mean that if you open Internet Explorer and click on Tools, there is no Internet Options present in the drop-down menu?  Please clarify, as I don't know of an Internet Options "button".

I go to tools and click "internet options" and nothing happens - I look in control panel and it is not in there.

This is usually a symptom of a spyware or malware infection.  Have you checked your system with at least 2 different antispyware programs?  Download, install, update, and run the free versions of Ad-Aware and Spybot and let these programs remove all of the garbage that they find.

If these programs don't solve the problem, go to the HijackThis forum, read the message in red at the top of that forum, then download and run Run HijackThis and post a log in that forum where a HijackThis expert can offer advice on how to fix the problem.
