Recently I have been having issues with updating my BIOS (and frankly anything for that matter). Anytime I try to run the update utility I get an error message of "your security settings could not be detected. Try restarting your system and running the update again". No amount of restarts and uninstalling and reinstalling Dell's update utilities and the like has fixed the problem. I don't recall doing anything different that would have prompted this so I'm pretty stumped on this one. Any suggestions are welcome. I've attached a screenshot below.
I am also encountering the same issue. I had 4 updates that applied successfully but the remaining BIOS update gives me the same error. I'm running a Dell Latitude 5490 and it shows
In addition, scrolling down shows Intel Management Engine (VPro LP) Update from 11.8.50.3426 to 11.8.60.3561 if I scroll down as the 5th entry on this list.
I had the same issue with my Latitude 5490 (as mentioned in my first reply that Dell deleted) and resolved it by copying the exe to a USB and doing a BIOS update from the BIOS directly as opposed to within Windows.
I found that temporarily suspending BitLocker protection and trying the update again did the trick. If you're using Bitlocker that is... Hope that helps!
