I've been case swapping this PC for a while and I wanted to show the (almost) finished product! I'm going to upgrade the CPU cooler over the stock one in a later on. If anyone has questions on how to do this, I'll answer if I don't forget.
very nice,. im going to attempt a case swap on my R12,..my current specs are win 11 pro, 112gb DDR4 ram kingston fury beast,. msi rtx 3060 12gb vram, stock i5 11400f, a pcie triple SSD adapter with fan, i switched the top case fan to a 6000rpm one and took the stock dell (rated 3000rpm) where the HDD cage was and theres also another 2 inch fan in there too,. so 4 fans now instead of 2,. it still runs good, fast,. but sounds alot like an aircraft when playing forza,.. for speakers i use a Bose 600 soundbar and dual Bose 10" subwoofers, models 300, and 500,..i love it, the neighbours hate it,..wrapped in razer everything(keyboard, mouse, mat, webcam,) and a 30" curved 2k screen.
i decided to go ahead and do my case swap,. i apologize for the sideways picture,.... yet again another dell flaw,.. but here is my new R12,..not made by dell,.. made by me.
That turned out really clean! The Aurora R12 definitely looks much better with the extra room and airflow you get from a standard case.
For anyone considering doing the same swap, it would be really helpful to know which parts were plug-and-play and which required modifications, especially the front-panel connections, power button, and PSU. I’d also be interested to hear what kind of CPU/GPU temperatures you’re getting compared with the original Aurora case.
Looking forward to seeing it once you upgrade the CPU cooler!
