14 R1, randomly shuts down
Hey fellas.
So I am having an issue with my laptop . I guess you guys can help me solve it.
The thing is I am currently running Alienware
M14
14 R1 laptop.
Now the problem it's having is random shutdowns after 40-45 minutes to be precise on Both The Charger and on Battery.
No bluescreen nothing. It will shut off . The restart is just fine . It powers up directly after the incident.
Firstly I had an Intel management engine driver error but I solved it with some youtube tutorials.
I ran diagnostics and the test was pretty fine.
Overheating isn't an issue as I reapplied the paste and it hovers on 55-60 on normal load and 70-79 on full load.
I can't seem to find out the issue.
What I did Was that I opened the bios and kept it on running. It didn't shutdown for 5 hours straight. I guess it's more of Windows issue. But again I reinstalled the windows and Had same problem.
Any help is Highly appreciable.

I recommend running the ePSA diagnostics as that can help test the components out. I also recommend reinstalling the Intel managment engine in safe mode as that can be the cause of the shutdown as it helps the BIOS communicate with the OS.

Um so I ran diagnostics Each component turned out to be fine and the diagnostic test also proved to be good.
How of I run the laptop in safe mode for windows 10.
Didn't they remove the safe mode option for windows 10?

@Hasnain123 to boot into Safe Mode;
- Press the Windows Start Menu icon and then Power
- Hold SHIFT while clicking on Restart
- Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Startup Settings
- Hit the Restart tab on the screen
- Once it restarts, choose option 4 for Safe Mode or one of the other Safe Mode options if you still want internet access.

Ok so I tried the safe boot technique and no Positive results.
Any Other Solution?

Try running off one of the RAM modules at a time. If it happens again, try the other stick. It's also possible that the SSD/HDD is on it's way out. Hopefully it's something cheap and simple like that.
The diagnostics don't always pick up hardware issues so you can't rely on it all the time.

Is it shutting down properly? Or is it as if the power was cut to the motherboard?
Usually, if the power was cut, Windows will tell you on the next boot-up.
One is a hardware, the other is a soft/firmware issue.
After having a quick search across several websites...this seems to be a Windows10 issue, as it is happening to all kinds of manufacturer's systems...Acer, etc.

If you have important files I recommend doing a Clean install of windows. Not like remove everything but leave your personal files and give you a fresh copy of windows. As that fixed my mouse issue and the laptop not going into sleep.
