i've had this system since 2009, originally purchased through Dell by myself. it's been a great purchase with just a few upgrades over the years. from what i recall a power supply died somewhere along the way, i added some RAM i believe and maybe a couple of years ago a video card.
i recently updated the system to Windows 10 as Windows 7 would no longer be supported. it's running a little slow and i noticed some of the newer games struggle at times (Division 2 for instance).
i'm not well versed on these systems any longer so i'm wondering has this machine finally run it's course after 10 years or is it recommended to upgrade (i assume the processor is the major contributor given its age) this system? i'm a casual gamer at this point, but i do appreciate a good gaming experience. \
appreciate the feedback in advance!

At first glance the GPU is current and that CPU is dated but still has a bit of life in it. Biggest problem is way too little RAM. 10 years ago 6 GB may have been fine but today's games require far more. 8 at least and the sweet spot is 16 GB. This forum post has more information about RAM. And this site shows the motherboard I believe is in your system. The max looks to be 24 GB which is more than enough for your uses (DDR3 1333 Tri-Channel).
But at 10 years the time is coming to start thinking about a new system. The newest technology would way outperform that of your current system.
And this is a laptop support forum. You would get many more replies at the Alienware desktop forum here.
