m17 R5, USB-C/DP to HDMI TV not working
Hi there,
To start this is the cord and adapter I currently have =
Club3D USB-C to DP 1.4 adapter (alt-mode 1.4)
Along with a Club3D DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.0b HDR cable
Club3D USB-C to DP 1.4 adapter (alt-mode 1.4)
Along with a Club3D DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.0b HDR cable
Basically, my computer is an Alienware m17 R5 AMD. This has a USB-C port on the back. I plugged in the adapter, and then used the other cord mentioned to hook to my television. My laptop does NOT notice any new display (trying to use Samsung TV). When you look up the specs, it says the Alienware PC supports DisplayPort 1.4 (never said mDP port specifically).
For troubleshooting. I ensured that no enhancements were on the tv originally. But later I also tried Input Signal Plus. I tried Game Mode. I tried AMD FreeSync. Nothing seems to be recognized on the PC. I'd like to confirm my USB-C supports Alternate mode for conversion. I can't see why this wouldn't work. I also ensured that I used the HDMI ARC port cause that's what the instructions said. Furthermore, I also ensured my PC was doing 60hz and not anything higher. I've tried other HDMI ports on my TV as well. I cannot understand why my cords aren't working here or why my PC isn't reading anything. Could you please help?

Why make it so convoluted (USB-C conversion to DP conversion to HDMI)?
Why not purchase a straight USB-C to HDMI cable?
