Transferring files to Avamar node

The AvamarInstallSles-VERSION.avp file is about 6GB.

It is advised in the installation guide to transfer the file to Avamar node using USB flash drive.

Since the file is larger than 4 GB, the flash drive need to be in NTFS.

However, when I tried to mount the flash drive, it gave "mount: unknown filesystem type 'ntfs' " error.

How can I transfer the file in flash drive successfully?

Are you using the Avamar Procedure Generator? I do not see any mention of using a flash drive in the installation procedure produced by the Procedure Generator. The procedure generator includes instructions for two methods of downloading the files to the utility node:

    • Direct FTP download using curl
    • Transfer of files from a service laptop or other system using SCP

Yep, I would agree with ianderson, use the following command to download the package:

    curl --disable-eprt -P - -O

    Hi guys, thanks for replying.

Yes, I am aware of the methods you mentioned. It would be great if flash drive is an option.

I would recommend submitting this feedback through the procedure generator itself. Is the screenshot you provided a clip from the procedure generator? It doesn't look familiar and there is at least one error in the listed procedure.

Erm... don't think any other product will have a binary named AvamarInstallV6Sles-XXXX.avp

You posted a screenshot. Is this screenshot from a document that was created by the procedure generator? I was not able to find anything like it in the procedures I generated. There is an error in the document so if it was created by the procedure generator, I need to contact the maintainers to have the document reviewed.
