I didnt think you could get a clariion with only 1 storage processor. One SPS sure.
If you replaced the storage processor with a new one and you only had 1 to start with, try connecting directly to it with cat5 and see if you can ping 1.1.1.1 Make sure you set your machine to something like 1.1.1.2
If you get a response from the ping, you can set a new IP address by going to 1.1.1.1/setup
I tried but it didn't work. Actualy what happened is that we removed the both SPA &SPB at the same time and then we removed the battery and then we put everything back again. when i switched them ON back, all the disk led are amber and green. And now i have no access to the storage, i don't know how to access it.
Is there a specific type of serial cable specialized for EMC? i tried to used 2 types of null modem cable but no luck. So any advice?
This sounds like a CX200LC, which is a one SP model. Either way, all Clariions ship with a serial cable for EMC Customer Service to use for supporting the array. Was this working prior to disassembling the array? You may want to verify bus cables. Do you only have one disk enclosure? I assume that the SP is flashing amber at this point?
yes it's only one disk enclosure with 5 disk drive 500GBand with 2 SP (SPA&SPB), but i want to what is the type of this serial cable and the pinout for it's terminations, because i did n't have EMC serial cable here.
I can n't connect to the storage using initialization wizard software or navisphere manager, so kindly let me known if there another way to connect to this storage.
