Power Consumption by CX700 (adding DAEs)

Hi,

I have one CX700 and we are going to add  three more DAEs onto it, currently the storage array are supported by two Ceeform power.

Can anyone please let me know do I need to add additional two Ceeform power to support for the new DAEs?

What is the best practise? My CX700 array are currently having 4 DAEs.. so after install another 3 x DAEs would become 7 DAEs.

Thanks.

    Chin,

The power requirements for DAEs is found in the guide titled: DAE2P/DAE3P Disk Array Enclosure Hardware Reference.

    The document is located here:

    https://powerlink.emc.com/nsepn/webapps/btg548664833igtcuup4826/km/live1/en_US/Offering_Technical/Technical_Documentation/300-002-407_A05.pdf?mtcs=ZXZlbnRUeXBlPUttQ2xpY2tDb250ZW50RXZlbnQsZG9jdW1lbnRJZD0wOTAxNDA2NjgwM2FiMDk4LG5hdmVOb2RlPVNvZndhcmVEb3dubG9hZHMtMQ__

On page 70 you will find the power specifications for the DAEs. Use this to determine whether your existing rack PDUs can handle the additional load of 3 DAEs.

    Hi Aran,

Thank you for your response. Yes, I've got the answer from the local CE as well.

A full populated of CX700 (DAE2P), can be supported by 2 x 32Amps power. CX700's rack is only come together with 2 power sources, so it does not support 4 ceeform power.

    Thanks
