SnapView with MirrorView

HI

We have CX4-480 approx 4T we are looking for a backup &recovery solution...We want to use SnapView/MirrorView ( possibly inconjunction with NetWorker) to place the backups on a removable harddrive. That removable harddrive will be removed and replaced daily...we had this discussion with EMC techs before they said that removing the harddrives would prevent EMC from recognizing the drives for restore. Can someone expand on that...most of the conversations and emails were with a coworker who has left the company....Now Im back tracking trying to figure out why solutions wouldnt work for us...

    Hi

    If you are looking for snapview or mirrorview, then these layered applications are for different purpose.

    Snapview - it allows you to create point-in-time copy (snapshot) for a LUN within the storage system itself, it would not allow you to take backup in removable media.

    Mirrorview - replication software which allows you to only replicate data from a lun in primary array to another lun is secondary array..it would not allow you to replicate data in removable medias.
