CTA - Failed to archive backup file

Hello

I am quite new to CTA, in fact i inherited the system. Could you point me to the right direction about a problem?

I receive the following error:

EMC CTA Alert ID: 701-0005 From Host: hostname/ip - Failed to archive backup file

Additional details:

Oct 19 00:34:40 FileManagementDa(5416){Backup} [15-92-5-106]: (ERROR) Failed to archive backup file "/var/fmbackup/fmbackup_10.0sp2_Mon_19-10-15_00_15.tgz"

What could cause such an error?

    Hi Peter,

    There are multiple causes for this error.

    1. Backup configuration in CTA

    2. Repository NAME to IP resolution (froward and reverse)

    3. NFS permission.

    I would suggest you begin with referring to the CTA getting started guide and confirm the configuration first.
