Compellent - SAN and client network on one switch pair. 4810 compatibility

All,

Two questions:

1. On new Compatibility matrix (06/2014) S4810 is not compatible for SAN connectivity with FS8600 (as interconnect between FS and SC8000). On previous version of Compatibility Matrix these switches was accepted. Is any issue what would not be used?

2. Is possible to use one pair S4810 (or other switches) as SAN network (interconnect between SC8000 and FS8600) and as client network (for connecting FS8600 frontend ports)?
Servers use 4810 swithes for connect to SC8000 LUNS (as SAN) and I want to show CIFs/NFS for these servers from FS8600 by the same switches.

Best regards

Tomek

I'm pretty sure there is no problem with support for these switches. The compatibility guide says "S4810T" in the FluidFS SAN Connectivity section. If it was removed from support you would see it in the depreciated list in the next section and only a couple PowerConnect switches are there.

I would double check with Copilot support. They can give you final verification on this.
