Beyond Fed up
I've really just about had it with my Dell desktop that is less than a year old. Multiple blue screen errors, CD drives that don't respond, motherboards frying and then the total mess that was trying to get the third party and Dell to talk to each other and schedule a time for them to replace my hardware. I missed two days of work because of their complete and total lack of capability. I've sent e-mails that go unanswered and then I have to do all the leg work to get the ball rolling. I've had two follow-up calls scheduled with tech support for my blue screen issues after having spent 2 hours and 1 hour respectively on calls with them and BOTH times they called the day before they were scheduled and then never called the time they WERE scheduled.
When I tried to extend my warranty for another year (because quite clearly I need a warranty on this ... ahem ... Dell PC), I was instructed to call an 800-number. So again, I'm the one doing all the work!
I'm really getting the feeling that Dell doesn't really care so much about the fact I spend more time maintaining this THING call a computer than I do actually using it to be productive. I guess if I want to be productive, I should buy a Mac.

Dell doesn't automatically extend your warranty, you do have to do that.
