Pre-Production

Hello, I placed my order just 3 days ago, on a Thursday.  It's in pre-production.  I ordered the new XPS 12 convertible laptop.  I was just wondering how long things usually stay in pre-production and what exactly that status means.  I know that my payment is approved and processed since it's a Dell preferred account and it's already showing up there.  I just wonder what the average time for pre-production and production statuses generally are going to be.  As you can imagine, I'm highly excited to receive my new machine!

I'm sorry, but I don't have a message from you in my inbox, nor did I have a friend request.  I appreciate the help, but I really was just curious about how long items stay in pre-production or production.  I am able to check my order status.  I did send you a friend request since I did not find one when following your previous directions.  Thanks.

    Hi Beth628,

Thank you for the details. I had a check and I see that the order is in pre-production.

Right now unfortunately I don’t see the reason why it is not moved in to production, however I will track this order and keep you posted about the status timely.

I had also private messaged you the order estimated delivery date.

You can also check the order status online: http://dell.to/r9uOdZ

Please do get back to us for further assistance or information.

hey, I also ordered an XPS 12 on Nov 24th, and it's still in pre-production... I really want my laptop, and I do think that over a month delivery date is a little extreme. Why don't they have these in stock ...?

I know!!! I actually called to be sure there wasn't a problem.  I ordered mine on Thursday, the 29th.  The guy said that this batch was set to begin production on the 30th.  It's still a pretty new product.  So, they are waiting to receive parts and then being production at the factory.

Lol. No, the 30th of November.  So, they were to begin getting ready and them producing on or around 11/30.

That was probably to me since I started the thread.  You can probably add the dell rep. yourself though.
