Problems logging in online
hi Dell community,
I have a Dell account that was created in early 2014 for my first purchase. The account has not been used for some years.
On the 17th of Feb I had problems logging in to this account.
I have tried many times to reset my password, I receive the OTP, I enter the OTP. My password is (from what I can tell) reset. However, when I try to log in I receive the following message, "We are unable to match the details you entered with our records", so I still cannot access my online account.
I have been trying ever since to get assistance. The options provided are,
1, go to the website and log a ticket. The website is for logging equipment faults and does not appear to help with anything that does not have a service tag or some product.
2. create a new account with another email address. This is not a satisfactory option; Do you change your phone number every time you have an issue with the phone line?
I have tried calling the support number in Australia, they point me back to option 1 and 2.
Is there ANYONE in Dell land that can help me fix this problem?

I have the same problem. When I use the one-time-password to log in, I have tried to change my password. However, it requires my original password, which I have forgotten. I don't know how to proceed to set a new passworl.

My problem has been solved. Dell support gave me a procedure to follow to change the password:
Open: My Account.
Select "Forgot your Password?"
Enter your email address in the Email Address box. This must be the email address that is currently registered in your "My Account" profile.
Select "Continue".
This was similar to what I was trying, except that it started from "My Account". From here, I got a prompt for changing my password.
