When I return a hard drive under the replacement warranty plan, how can I be assured that the data on the old drive had been securely erased?

Returned drives are generally recycled, not reused - but if there's a concern, you can always buy the replacement yourself and dispose of the original as you wish -- hard drives are inexpensive, and it may be worth the cost for peace of mind.
