Go to SolutionThree month old computer died
My school computer died when it was barely three months old. I spent an hour trying to search for help on the support pages, then gave up and called. I was told that I needed my RAM replaced. The part was ordered and a service appointment was set uop. I had an email telling me that they would be here between 9 AM and 6 PM today. After wasting an entire day waiting for the service guy to show up, I called customer support at 6:04 PM, only to be told that the part was on back-order and no one knows when it will show up, but they'll be in touch. So no one could send me an email to update me? No one could be bothered to update the "Service request update"? I waited ALL DAY to take a test that I couldn't take because I would have failed to complete the test on time and failed the test if the service person had shown up while I was taking it. The customer support person apologized for the inconvenience. "Inconvenience" doesn't begin to touch it, just like "angry", "frustrated" and "upset" deosn't begin to touch how I feel. "Livid" comes close. "Sorry I bought a Dell" is pretty spot-on. I could have bought something that would actually work for that $1500 I spent on this laptop. If I didn't have a second laptop that I could use, I would be in seriousn trouble because I'm a week away from the end of the semester, all of my classes are online and there's no place for me to go to use a computer because the state is closed for COVID. When I need to buy a new computer, it won't be a Dell; your customer serviec can't even update me to let me know the part is backordered. That's the WORST customer service EVER.
