Tower Plus EBT2250, boot problems after a BIOS 1.20.0 update
I did a Windows 11 update yesterday and noticed when it rebooted, it went right into the Dell Bios update (I DID NOT UPDATE). Well, after the flash finished, it won't even boot into repair mode. I've tried for 12 hours, numerous ways.
Finally I got a flash drive and tried to do the BIOS and each time it says it can't downgrade. I thought I went into configuration and checked the box to allow this but it seems not to make any difference. Plus, it shows in the logs that 1.20.0 flashed successfully. But, I can't even find any newer BIOS other than 1.19.0 so I'm not sure how I got the 1.20.0 version?
I get a continuous loop and it tries to go into repair mode but reboots over and over. I tried a USB with Windows 11 and I can't get into the repair screen. I'm just blocked someway. I really hate to start over but thankfully, this is a back up computer for work and my info is on my Work computer as well as my NAS. However, I really would like to get the boot working.
Any ideas?

- This BIOS contains the new 2023 Secure Boot Certificates.
- Do not power off the system until the process of updating the BIOS is completed.
- Once the BIOS is upgraded, you cannot downgrade the BIOS to versions earlier than 1.12.0. BIOS downgrades are restricted when there are security updates and important fixes with earlier versions that impact the functionality of the system.It's unlikely that you can downgrade, but...If in doubt please ask.Kind Regards

Contact Dell GHN (Get Help Now) chat technical support Monday through Friday. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private Service Tag with them so that they can verify the ownership and warranty. Also share the link to this Forum thread.
Did you do the following?
* Disconnect the power cable from the Tower Plus EBT2250 rear power port
* Wait 2 minutes
* Press and hold the front power button for 8 seconds
* Reconnect the power cable to the Tower Plus EBT2250 rear power port
* Power on
The Tower Plus EBT2250 Drivers & Downloads page shows BIOS 1.20.0 released on September 2, 2026. Microsoft would have received pre-release notification of this release which is why Windows Update found it.
BIOS 1.20.0 Important Information states = Once the BIOS is upgraded, you cannot downgrade the BIOS to versions earlier than 1.12.0. So in theory you should be able to back flash to BIOS 1.19.0 ?
* Go to the generic Tower Plus EBT2250 Drivers & Downloads page
* Click "All Dell Tower Plus EBT2250 (46)"
* Click "Dell Tower Plus EBT2250 System BIOS"
* Click "All Driver Versions" to see past BIOS

I thank everyone for their time and help. I'm not sure what I did but I pretty much did the same things a few more times and it just booted into Windows. I'm not sure if my problem is fixed but now that I do have 1.20.0 (thanks to Chris), I know it's available. I put in my ST and that version DID NOT pop up so I glad I have it.
I hope I'm good for now. And, I learned something else too!

Be sure these BIOS options are the same as before the incident:
UEFI-Mode
AHCI or RAID
AND THEN,
... be sure your Boot Priority #1 is still "Windows Boot Manager" on your main Windows-SSD.
