It sounds like the touchscreen driver may not be properly installed or recognized by the system. I’d suggest checking Device Manager under “Human Interface Devices” and using “Scan for hardware changes” or updating drivers via Windows Update. You can also download the latest chipset and touch-related drivers directly from Dell’s support page for your model, as those often restore touchscreen functionality.
