DiskXtender Remote Procedure Call Licensing

I would like to only use DX for its Virtual Volume connection from AX using RPC. Is this supported in the Data Manager license? Do I need to purchase SAN volume licensing if I am not managing the data in DX such as moving or purging? We decomissioned DX from platters to SAN, but would like to security of going through the RPC to access the images instead of a share.

    I have customers that use DiskXtender for Windows server license to enable RPC for AX. They do not have capacity licensing.

    Frank,

    Thank you for the response but I was hoping that EMC would respond to this question to make sure this is supported in the licensing agreement.

    I know that it is physically possible but want to make sure it is a legal configuration.
