OMCI 8 Scripting Help

Hi i am trying to get a better understanding of OMCI 8 and scripting changes. I have noticed that the new namespace is ROOT\DCIM\SYSMAN and that Dellomci is now readonly so i am trying to convert over to the new OMCI 8 standard. I just cannot figure out how to modify anything. I see that DCIM_BiosEnumeration has the values that i want to set and it looks like CIM_BiosService needs to be used to set attributes but im not sure how that works. If you could provide some examples of what that would look like i can go from there. Ideally if you could convert the two different formats below to use the new OMCI 8 DASH standard that would be more than enough help!!!

Thanks,
Brandon Linton

wmic.exe /namespace:\\root\dellomci path dell_smbiossettings set Autoon=4

gwmi -namespace root\dellomci Dell_SMBIOSSEttings | foreach {$_.WakeUpOnLAN=6; $_.WakeupOnLANMethod=3; $_.Put()}

    Hi Brandon,

    Thanks for posting the details. I'm working on getting more info on how to set BIOS entries with OMCI 8.0.

    Ditto: I am struggling wiht the same issue. Converting current OMCI 7 scripts to OMCI 8. We have written quite a few scripts that we will have to change to take advantage of the new release, however we are having problems determining what the new classes are. Is there an unpublished cheat sheet somewhere? Quite confusing too - for to read a property use Bios_Enumeration, to write to it, use Bios_Service?? Moreover the Put_() method is not supported. "SetBIOSAttributes" is the new exec method.

    The dev team is working on a comprehensive cross reference between the new and old namespaces in addition to additional details on the new methods. I will post back to this thread when it is available.

    I feel the same kind of pain. Trying to get the new RemoteBIOSUpdate command to work in the DCIM_BIOSService class. The published documentation is clearly out of date since a new instance of the InParms shows it also needs the AuthorizationToken (admin password for BIOS changes). Yet even when supplied... this method continues to throw: "invalid method parameters". =(

    I will eagerly be looking for my post here to start showing up on a Google search of the term: RemoteBIOSUpdate
    since the pickin's are really slim right now.

    (in fact... let's list the parameter names as well, since those were producing zero matches in google:
    Name : "AuthorizationToken" --- CIMType : wbemCimtypeString
    Name : "rbuIPFName" --- CIMType : wbemCimtypeString )

    moving to OMCI 8 soon. Hoping this cross reference and an expanded script library becomes available. Seems to be a lot of mixed info for OMCI on the Dell site with lots of pointers back to the 7.x version.
