My grandmother has a desktop that is not working. She lives 800 miles away from us and we just came to visit (not as common as I would like due to distance, she lives in Alabama and we had to move to Oklahoma for financial reasons). She asked me to help her with her computer. I quickly discovered that if you type any key; letter, number, etc. even if you barely tap it it continues to type the key a random amount of times. The backspace is the same, so typing anything in the search bar is virtually impossible, but it doesn’t do it but about 80-90% of the time. A few words will work and then the search will look something like (if not using backspace to try to fix it) “hhhhhhooooowwwwww tttttttooooooooooo         Fiiiiiixxxx ddddddeeeellllllll” She’s very old and due to multiple medical issues has very little control over certain things, making her memory terrible and her an easy target for scammers. I’m here to find out if she has downloaded a virus, or if something else is going on. Regardless of if it is a simple issue or a complex one, we will be leaving by the end of the week and she is unable to fix even a simple issue alone. She is very dependent (although she tries to be independent) and I would love to get some advice on the next steps so I can fix the issue as soon as possible.
