Dell g15 5511 - CANNOT POWER ON

The laptop has solid white LED light on but does not respond to the power button. I've tried pressing the button for 15 seconds but no use. Need help!

Hi @aque99 welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

Please perform Hard Reset. Drain residual flea power (perform hard reset) | Dell US.

Please run the LCD built-in self-test (BIST) diagnostics. How to Run the LCD Built-in Self-Test on a Dell Laptop | Dell US

In a dark environment, look at screen obliquely (at an angle), if a faint image is detected, the screen backlight has failed, and the fix is to replace screen assembly. Alternatively, shine bright light obliquely at screen to see if there is a faint image.

Please use HDMI cable to connect system to external monitor or TV. If screen image appears the laptop screen cable has disconnected when laptop lid has opened & closed. The fix is to reconnect screen cable.

Unplug the system, remove the base cover and disconnect the battery from the system board.  Hold the power button for 30 sec.

Then reconnect the battery and replace the cover.  See if the system will then POST.

    Perform a hard reset

Power off the laptop. Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds. Disconnect the AC adapter or power cable, and remove the battery. NOTE: For Dell laptops that have a nonremovable battery, see the Dell knowledge base article How to Reset Real Time Clock (RTC) to Recover Your Dell Laptop.
