Problems removing optical drive

I want to remove the base cover from my Inspiron 17 5770 so that I can access the SSD and RAM with a view to upgrades. However I'm failing at the very first step of the instructions in the service manual - removing the optical drive.

I remove the retaining screw and the optical drive will then slide out by about a quarter-inch (5mm) but it then snags on something and won't witdraw any further. This means that I can't access the two base cover retaining screws that are underneath it.

Has anyone else had this problem?

But here's my problem: At 1.40 of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrqtEXlUqhQ he removes the retaining screw of the optical drive and just slides it straight out. In my case, it only moves the quarter-inch and then snags on something. I then can't get at the two screws that are hidden underneath it. I can maybe remove all the others and see if I could then release the cover enough around the other three sides to see if that removes the snag.

Any other advice would be appreciated.
