My next question:-

Anyone know of a tutorial video link of how to disassemble the 15 3552 to access the Touch Pad for replacement. Most on YouTube show laptops with a 2 piece underside cover where mine is a one piece.

Adding anyone know of the part number for the Touch Pad and where in the UK to purchase the pad.

In anyones opinion,

Do you think this a Hardware or Software/Driver issue. ???

There is no software issue, period. No driver to fix this, nothing!

The problem is that this is 100-percent a design flaw. 100-percent of the touchpad is active, where even the very edges of the bottom of the touchpad can move the mouse pointer around. Because the buttons are extra hard to press, you naturally slide your finger as you click on a button, which causes the mouse pointer to move before you actually click the button.

At first, I thought may there's a possible driver solution. Maybe the touchpad software would allow me to disable the lower portion of the touchpad and use it only for the buttons. But, no setting like this exist. If Dell made the buttons easier to click, it wouldn't a big of an issue, but still if you can't keep a steady finger while pressing down, you'll continue to have problems.

I'm actually in the process of returning a Inspiron 2-in-1 because of this issue. I'm forced to purchase a business-class laptop, like a Latitude, in order to get real mouse-like buttons that are completely separate from the touchpad.

You have tried all possible software solutions to your problem.

I advise you to take the device to the Dell service center.

If the device is still within the warranty period then you can get the part replaced pretty fast.

If not then you can still get the repair the device for a small cost.

i made this account specifically to answer this question. i have a dell inpirion 15 and the left click from time to time does the exact same thing. not selecting thing, wont hold on a scroll. just dirving me INSANE

none of that bs about the drivers and all that is the solution

its whenever you visit certain sites they change your registry on your computer. to fix this download the free program "spybot search and destroy" and do a scan of your computer. itll show some a few registry files have been changed and it will fix them. after that it should work fine until a website messes it up again. all these websites these days force you to use cookies and all sorts of junk without even telling you.

Without speaking too soon, my problem seems to be alot better by downloading and installing 'Dell Touchpad' from Microsoft store for Windows 10 and setting 'palm resist' high.

Last time this happened, the battery was swelling underneath the touchpad, and had to be replaced.  It took Dell a lot of time to figure it out.  It's happening again, and I'm afraid to put myself into the service queue once more...
