Computer restarting
So I went on vacation a couple weeks ago. I came back to 2 things. My computer beeping and restarting after a shutdown. I fixed the beeping by replacing the battery on the motherboard. The computer still restarts though. What could be causing this?

It was plugged in. I have a UPS unit from best buy.
I ran the the tests and all came back fine.
Did you reset BIOS to defaults after installing battery?
Check power switch.
Is it rebooting or shutting down (by itself).
Install and run CPUID HW-Monitor and look for over-heat or anything strange.
Try Safe Mode.

How far does it get? Right after the Alienhead? Does not even finish it? Does it show a bluescreen before restarting?

Sounds like machine might have been damaged by a voltage spike.
Was it plugged in during vacation? Do you have a proper UPS battery unit in use?
Try testing machine will Dell Diags outside of Windows (F12 from BIOS).
