Go to SolutionDell M18x r2 doesn't boot up nor beeps
Hello all,
My M18x r2 doesn't boot up at all. When I turn on the power, the 3 fans would turn on, but within seconds they all would stop and then the middle fan would spin. Nothing loads on my screen; it's just a black screen with no beeps either. The keyboard lights and power lights are on, but it's not going through the boot up process. Anyone have any ideas what the problem may be? Could it be loose wires? I just traveled from NYC to Paris and I had my M18x in a backpack I carried with me.
I took off the bottom cover and tried detaching and retaching my harddrives, but still nothing.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you

Hi Somnang,
I appreciate your efforts to fix the issue with Alienware M18XR2 by reseating the hard drive. I suggest you to release static power that the system may contain by following the steps provided below:
1. Remove the Battery and the AC Adapter.
2. Press and hold the Power button for 20 seconds and release it.
3. Reconnect the Battery and AC Adapter and check if the system starts normally. You may also try reseating the memory modules that are located above the Battery compartment, if the steps provided above fails to fix the issue. You can locate the modules by removing the bottom cover.
Please let me know about your findings.

I tried the above, but that didn't work. But I did remove the bottom plate cover, all memory modules, and the keyboard & side buttons. I checked to make sure the gpu connections are good. I then reattached everything back on. Initially that didn't solve the problem, but when I repeatedly press the power button, it booted up correctly. It's now running properly again.
Thank you for your assistance
