Raid5 Win7 install on Area-51
I am trying to install window7 64bit on an Area-51 computer. It is not working. I have 3 1tb drives in one array. I can't get windows to install to it. When I boot off the cd it sees the drive. Then i selected it and picked new from the advanced menu. Then I format the new partition. everything is good to this point. Then when I select next for it to start the install it gives me an error saying it can't find a system drive. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,
JJones

I don't have the Area-51 (x58 chipset) manual handy ... but the Aurora R1 (x58) manual shows RAID-5 as being supported.
Try downloading this disk (and put on flash drive or CD-R). Use in on Advanced screen during Windows install when you pick partition. I think button/option is called "Load Driver".

You can also get it from intel.com

Hello JJ,
Does it show the raid volume size at less then 2tb? If it's any bigger Windows won't install. So if you tried to make the entire 3tb into a bootable it won't work. What you can do is make a smaller partition and then do it. Something like 1999999mb or less is fine just make sure it is less then 2tb.
Also, have you tried going back into the Raid config and redoing it just to make sure?
