I am considering buying a new m18x laptop and before i do i was curious about the video card replacement policy of the basic coverage.

To kind of explain my thought problem, I have an alienware m17x-r2 laptop with at least one burnt out video card.  It is no longer under warranty and replacement video cards for the specific model cannot be found.  From all of the research i have done I have discovered that it was a faulty model and a common problem was melting video cards (Open up your laptop and you can kind of understand it, heat sinks on opposite side of the card from the fan and vent in a very tight card compartment).  Any who a few people reported that they using their warranties dell replaced the broken video cards multiple times.  Does Dell still do this under the basic warranty plan?  Even if the m18x is much better designed in a high performance laptop there will always be a lot of heat no matter what external cooling precautions are taken and before i sink another 5,000 into a laptop it would be nice to know if the video cards are covered by the warranty.  As a casual desktop computer builder i had assumed going into my last laptop that replacement parts could be purchased and installed by the user.  Now knowing that alienware parts are custom made for dell and only in stock for a limited time it would be nice to know if dell can and will replace them for the length of the warranty.
