1525 Wireless PCIE Card Drivers
My wife recently got a Dell Studio XPS desktop running Windows 7 64-bit that included a wireless 1525 card. This pc is located right next to our router and is connected via ethernet cable. I would like to use the 1525 card in a Vostro 400 running Vista 32-bit. Will it work in the Vostro, and is there a link to the drivers here on Dell.com somewhere? I have not been able to find drivers for the setup. Thanks.

Hi Osprey4,
Thanks for reply. I finally had a chance to try this 1525 wireless card in the Vostro 400. No luck however. I did try the Win 7 32/64 bit driver from the Studio XPS d/l page. It is R234119. Anyway, when attempting to install I got this message: "Installer could not run on this platform. Please select package for your operating system".
So then I poked around and found R225458 which is for Vista 32-bit running on Vostro 420, 430, 220, and 220S. This looked promising but when attempting to install I get the exact same message as above.
Then tried R244607 which is for Vista 64-bit running on Vostro 430. Same error message as above.
Then tried R174292 which is a a multi-device driver for 1370 wireless card. It is for Vista 32-bit and lists lots of computers, including Vostro 400. Got this message when attempting to install: "No compatable hardware found. The software you are attempting to install is not supported on this system. The software will not be installed".
Any ideas what the problem might be installing the above drivers? Would like to use this 1525 card in my Vostro 400.
Does anyone have any idea why I get the error message "Installer could not run on this platform. Please select package for your operating system" when trying to install the driver R225458 on a Vostro 400 running Vista R2 32-bit OS? I downloaded that driver from the Dell site using the browser d/l function, not the Dell d/l manager. That driver is listed as correct for the 1525 wireless card for Vostro 420 and 430 on Vista 32-bit, but not Vostro 400. Is there something fundamentally different between 400s and 420s/430s?
Here is where I found that driver:
Maybe I am doing something wrong while trying to install this driver? Thanks for any ideas.

Hi rrgone,
Yes, that card should work in the Vostro but I do not see Vista drivers. You could try the Windows 7 32-bit drivers, available on the downloads page for your Studio XPS.
