I assume you are using some version of Windows.

1. Go to Control Panel

2. Open Add/Remove Programs

3. Click on the StartUp Disk tab

That should do it.

Hi Larry, If you suspect bad system files and you are running Win 98 do this: go to Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information. In this window click on Tools in the Menu bar. Click on System File Checker. This will look at and identify any corrupt system files. If it finds any you can Click on Extract a file or Have Disk and have your Win 98 CD available. Type in the file name and you can restore it from the CD. This is much faster than reformatting your entire Hard Drive. Hope this works for you.
