Boy...this is original!

http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=dim_video&message.id=120719

I've followed ChrisM's advice on here to the tee. I have a Geforce 5500fx 128mb pci card. Right now I have the bios set to "onboard" for the video so I can come on here and post this message. When I change the video options to "Auto" because there is no option to just shut it off, and hook my monitor cable up to the PCI card, the computer POST's and everything, but the monitor won't refresh and come on.

The only way that I seem to get video is when I enable the onboard stuff and then turn it on. I've even tried installing the nvidia card THEN disabling the onboard stuff and restarting the computer with it plugged into the pci card. Then the computer will boot up, but the monitor won't turn on. So the computer will go all the way to the password log on screen but won't actually turn on for me.

Any other suggestions as far as things to try. And I've tried moving it around in all three PCI slots that I have. LOL and to think that this is all just so I can play B & W 2 :(

Thanks
