I recently purchased a 4700 for my kids. (Less fighting over my PC!)  I took the cover off after trying how to get the thing off in the first place.  I installed a wireless card. To put the cover back on you have to pull that black L shaped handle in the back to make it stay.  It took me a bit to figure that one out, too.  Good luck!

I tried what you suggested. The problem seems to be that there is somewhat of a misfit; the little gizmos on the cover don't match with the slots on the case and thus the cover stops short of where  it belongs. it's not the latch that's the problem.

Problem is solved. The part that inserts into slot was slightly bent. A minor plier adjustment was all that was needed.
