Clock Errors

I'm attempting to install MicroSoft Encarta onto a Dell Dimension 4300 with WIn XP Home. I cannot install due to current clock is not correct... I've sycnchronized the clock and still cannot install... Is Norton Anti virus the cause? Any ideas?

    mikes1,

What version of Encarta are you trying to load? What is the exact error message you receive when you try to install it?

You might try disabling NAV autoprotect before installing, although it should not cause a problem related to your clock.

I have been constantly having to readjust the clock on my new computer (Dimension 8200 1.9Ghz). I finally solved the problem by turning off the option to have the time atomatically adjusted. It does not seem to work properly. Now the time is always correct. Especially screwed up if using the windows time site to sync to.

I'm installing 99. That might be part of my problem. Encarta 99 might not run on XP... Do you know?

    mikes1,

By chance I happen to have Encarta 99. I tried to install it on my XP system and it installed without a problem.

Interesting.. Do you have XP Home or Pro? Did you need to go through all of these clock trouble shooting issues to make it work? Do you run Norton Anti-Virus?

    mikes1,

I have XP Pro. Having seen several posts early on, I disabled the Internet clock synchronization feature as soon as I received my system. I am running NAV 2002.

Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java.
