Code 41 and Code 19 Error messages
I'm still having problems, obviously, with my Dimension 4600 Windows XP. My speakers are working, but I can't play any music on my computer, and my disc drives do not work. These are their error messages:
Sony CD-RW CRX216E -- Code 41
Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)
Samsung DVD-ROM SD-616E -- Code 19
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
My disc drives still open when I click them, and I did absolutely nothing to my computer to make them become disabled. If anyone has any suggestions what I should do or what may have caused this, please feel free to leave a reply. I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks for your time.

How do I reinstall the chipsets?
Btw, I did not reinstall Windows. That's why I am so confused as to how this happened in the first place. One day my sound wouldn't work, and the next day my drivers weren't functioning either.
Anyway, thanks for the advice.
- I also lost use of my Samsung DVD-Rom and HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8481B after I installed Dell Network Assistant. That is all that was changed. And my DVD and CD-RW drives disappeared as if they no longer exist - Codes 19 and 41.What happened and how do we correct?

It sounds like you reinstalled Windows (or possibly everything). Try reinstalling the chipset drivers and see if that fixes the CD/DVD drive issue. Also, after you reinstall the chipset drivers, reinstall the sound drivers.
If the above does not fix the CD/DVD problems, repost on the CD/DVD section, the forum section for CD/DVD issues.
