go to, start, run, type msconfig press enter, go to startup tab, uncheck everything expect systray, and all tags that relates to your antivirus. press ok, and restart computer.

I've been having the same problem and tried the msconfig procedure - but windows prompted me after reboot to reset mdconfig to "normal" mode, thereby forcing all the stuff I turned off, back on. Any suggestions?

P.S. This also seemed to start happening after maximizing RAM to 1 GB...
