dell and microsoft help and support

I am having difficulties loading the "help and support" program located under START. It acts like it is beginning to load, but never completes the task--that is, it remains "loading" after 15, 30, 45 minutes, etc. Any ideas? Thanks

    If you installed the Dell Customization for Help and Support, try removing it (you should be able to through Add/Remove Programs); even if you machine came with it already installed, you whould be able to remove it. See if that helps. If that is not the problem, then go to Start|Run and run SFC /SCANNOW (or you can do that also from the command prompt). If there are any corrupted or missing files among the Help and Support Components, that might fix them (you will need your operating system CD to be in the drive).
