Dell Precision 470 cannot find Ethernet
Hi,
Up until a few days ago all my dell precision was working great until I had a virus. I had to reformat my computer and now the system does not find the built in NIC card.
So I installed an Intel Pro 1000 NIC (PCI E) and the system does not detect this also. Please can someone give me some pointers?
I even updated the bios to A07 and reformated my disk again and reinstalled XP.
Please help

To flesh out Ieee488's link: the installation of the drivers is important after a reformat. Without the chipset drivers in particular, the operating system may not be able to detect all of the hardware correctly.
