Error Message 0028:FoooF841 in VxD

I get the above message when I shut down. It tells me everything can continue normally by pressing any key -- but does not.

Then I restart and it does operate normally until I shut down.

What is this and how do I fix this?

Thanks!

It is an error message relating to a virtual device driver (VxD). Does it say which specific VxD?

If it does then you can disable it at startup by doing this:

    1/ Start
    2/ Run
    3/ type "msconfig" (no quotes)
    4/ Click on Static VXD
5/ Uncheck the one it is
    6/ Reboot

If you don't know which spefic VXD it is then you will have to go back and repeat the above steps and uncheck each one one at a time to find out.

This might solve your shutdown problem but you will have to reinstall the vxd.

That's it! I know which Virtual Device Driver it is: NDIS

Now, how do I re-install that? Where would that be?

    Thanks!

It didn't give me information on my system. I'm running Windows ME. I searched Windows ME for NDIS and found nothing about reinstalling the VxD.

Where else could I find that information?

    Thanks!
