Hard drive Jumper Question
I installed a new 300GB hard drive today, but my XPS-600 will not recognize it. It shows up in the device manager, but it is nowhere to be found in My Computer. I did not install the jumper because I cannot figure out where it goes. The drive is a SATA II by Samsung, model HD300LJ. Can anyone help me out here?

No, I did not do that. I am not sure how to do that. The only reference I can even find that it exists is in the Device Manager. And all I can seem to do there is mess with the driver. This drive did not come with any type of driver disk. All the hard drives I have bought in the past came with some sort of software. I am kind of stumped right now. Do I need to install the jumper?Stifly_Bono_Pop

Thanks so much Kirk!! I will give it a shot now.- Need to go to Disk Management (Right click on My Computer, click on Manage, click on Disk Management). Then right click on the left end of the bar for Disk 1 (where it says Disk 1) and click Initialize. After it's finished, right click again and click on Partition and click whatever is needed to finish and the disk is ready to go.
