On the front of the monitor, press the A button and change it to D sub:

* If your system has any of the following issues:
- System is slow
- System won't shut down
- System reboots when attempting to shut down
- System locks up
- System generates an error message
* Run through the following steps. If you do not see a step on your screen, just skip it and continue:

RESET & CLEAR START UP PROGRAMS
* Click Start- Run
* Type MSCONFIG [press the Enter key]
* Insert the dot to Normal Startup
* Click Apply- OK (Don't restart the system)
* Right-click the [Start] button
* Left-click Open
* Double-click Programs
* Double-click Startup (Everything you see in the start up group is actually running all the time, which just takes away from your resources)
* Move ALL the icons in the Startup box to the desktop. Here is how too move the icons:
* Right-click the icon [hold the button down]
* Drag the icon out of the Start Up box
* Let go on the desktop
* Left-click "Move Here")
* After you have moved all the icons onto the desktop, close all the boxes
* Do NOT restart the system

RESET INTERNET EXPLORER
Set Internet Explorer to the defaults.
* Click Start- (Settings)- Control Panel
* Look to the left. If listed, click "Switch to Classic View"
* Click Internet Options
*! Click the "Delete Files" button, insert a check, click OK
* Click the "Clear History" button, click Yes or OK
* Under Home Page, change it to http://www.google.com or whatever you want the home page to be
* Click the "Use Current" button
* Click Apply
* Click the Advanced tab
* Click the button "Restore Defaults"
* Click the Programs tab
* Check the box "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser"
* Click Apply and/or OK. Close all boxes

RESET POWER MANAGEMENT
The standby application was written by Microsoft for laptops and is not very reliable on desktop computers.
* Right click anywhere on the desktop
* Click Properties
* Click the Screen Saver tab
* Choose one and set it for one minute (or however long you want)
* Click Apply
* Click the settings or Power button to the right of the globe
* You should be on the Power Schemes tab
* Under the heading! Power Schemes choose Home/Office Desk
* Under Settings for Home/Office Desk
- set the monitor to never
- set the hard disks to never
* Click Apply
* Click the Advanced tab (if listed)
remove any checks
* Click Apply if you made any changes
* Click the Hibernate tab
remove any checks
* Click Apply if you made any changes
* Click OK
* Click OK
* Don't restart the system

RESTORE THE VIDEO SETTINGS -
Reset the video card display adaptor to defaults. Follow the instructions for your operating system.
* Click Start- (Settings)- Control Panel
* Look to the left. If listed, click "Switch to Classic View"
* Click Appearance and Themes or Display
* Click the Appearance tab
* Look for Color Scheme, change to Default (blue)
* Click the Effects button, check everything except "Use large icons", the options chosen should be Fade effect and Standard
* Click OK
* Click the Settings tab
Screen Resolution = at least 1024x768 pixels
Color quality = Medium (16 bit)
* Click the Advanced button
* Under the General tab
Choose Normal size (96 dpi)
Put a dot on, " Apply the new display settings without restarting"
* Click the monitor tab
Change the Refresh Rate to at least 75Htz or the refresh rate printed on your monitor
* Click the Troubleshoot tab
Set this to Full
* Click- Apply- OK- OK
* Do ! NOT restart the system

DISK CLEANUP -
Clean up your temporary files which can slow your computer down
* Click Start- My Computer or double click the My Computer icon
* Right click Local Disk (c:)
* Click Properties
* Click Disk Cleanup
* After you click Disk Cleanup, Another window will be displayed. Make sure you have a check mark in everything
* Click Ok
* Click Yes
* Close all boxes

STILL HAVING PROBLEMS? -
* Insert the Windows operating system CD into the top CD\DVD\CD-R -RW\DVD+R +RW drive. Close any boxes that may open
* Click Start- Run
* Type sfc /scannow [press Enter]
* Follow any prompts. When finished, remove the CD
* Click Start- Shutdown- Restart- OK or Click Start- Turn Off Computer- Restart
