Help with Dimension C521
I have a Dell Dimension C521 that was working perfectly yesterday. This morning I turned everything on and the tower was working fine (motor running and everything), but the monitor power light would not turn from orange to the regular green when I turned on the tower. What could be the problem?
Update: I just tried pushing one of the buttons on the monitor and the monitor power button turned to green and gives the message "Digital input in power save mode. Press computer power button or any key on keyboard or move mouse." I did all those things and the monitor would not turn on.

This is the description of the video card...
nVidia integrated video (DirectX 9.0c Shader Model 3.0 Graphics Processing Unit) or PCI Express x16 graphics card

Hi,
As far as the diagnostic light are concerned, the "1,2,3,4" go on and off but then 1,2,3 stay on for about 5-10 seconds and then everything turns off. I'm almost positive that I have a video card and it is integrated.
Does the video cable plug in using the VGA connector shown here?

Is it not a possible Motherboard problem when the power light stays orange?

It actually does not. The monitor was working fine with a white cable that was plugged in near the bottom of the tower. I believe if my geography was right, it would be in the area where the PCI card slots are.
Open the case and look at the larger capacitors near the middle of the motherboard that are near the small silver heat sink, if the top is bulged on any of them or you see any brown crusty stuff you will need to find a repair shop that can replace the caps. These caps are the power supply section to the on board video of the motherboard.

Hi Aquamarine055,
This indicates that there is no signal coming from your video card. Do you see any of these diagnostic lights? Do you have a video card or is it integrated?
