Most basic C521
hi all,
my old media center died alittle while ago, and it's so old it's not worth fixing it. so im looking at a whole new machine. im looking at C521 with most basic spec, i dont need it to do much, just need it to hook up with my toshiba 42" LCD via VGA plug. it just has to play dvd, and plays video files up to 1920x1080. the main problem im stuck with at the moment is, as you might already notice, im linking the media center with the tv via VGA. [ran out of HDMI ports, plus basic c521 only comes with vga port]. i have a desktop with geforce 7800gt that can output a 1366x768. that works perfectly fine via the vga port, however since thats my main workstation i cant have it sitting next to my tv all the time, hence, the need of a media center. so my question is, can c521 with geforce 6150 LE output a 1366x768 signal via vga port ? [my 7800gt can do it, my laptop 7300go cant and my R9000 cant neither.]
cheers
Tef

I would look at an E520 or a E521. Dell is still selling these systems with Windows XP.If you live in the US or UK find a basic box here. http://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineSales/topics/global.aspx/arb/online/en/InventorySearch?c=us&cs=22&l=en&lob=DIM&MODEL_DESC=Dimension%20E520&s=dfhIt might take a few days to find an outlet store Window XP system.Small business sells Window XP machines. If you buy a 520 series computer, you should be able to find a video card to work with your LCD TV.
