olefin56,
Wow .. thats pretty good. I would have renewed thru them if they had offered me that price. On both of my recent Dells ... when subscription time rolled around (one was just today) I was offered $24.95 or $29.95 to upgrade to 2003 w/ the subscription.
On the first machine that expired in December I picked up System Works Pro 2002 from newegg.com for $15/free shipping ... it included a one year subscription.
On the latest machine that just expired today ... I got a System Works Pro 2003 from Purplus.com for $19 and shipping ... (not much less than a renewal but this way you get the renewal plus all the stuff that comes w/ Pro 2003 ... and the difference looks like 2002 gave you Fax Pro and 2003 drops that and gives you "Performance Test" .. a "fair" benchmark program).

- i just got the norton pro yesterday, clearly there was some things missing from the cd..like sytem ghost, sent purplus a email thanking them for there fast service but explained to them i found out about them thru dell message boared ,then went on to tell them that was cd wasnt the pro(even thou it was maked pro, ghost wasnt even on the cd along with anouther aplication,i told them i was very unhappy and wasnt going to recomend them to anyone and was going to spread the word about them on dell message boarde they sent me a email back saying more or less if i didnt change my attitude they wouldnt make it right with me so i had to email them back and lie and say i was sorry,..waiting now for a reply from them,by the way i even called symantic (norton) and asked her about the cd,she asked me if any where in the cd it says pro edition..i said no! she verifyed that it was the standared cd, hope you had better luck with them getting what you wanted.....i havent yet!

I question that upgrade price too..
The link provided quotes a price based on product 07-12-00014 which is not the product I subscribe to but rather a product which update would be $24.95 as well.
However I did find a valid upgrade path from symantec for Norton Antivirus 2003 for $29.95 with 12 month subscription. There is also a symantec OEM products but one has to question their sale and usage practices?
Good topic but perhaps doesn't belong here... and there should be a section in software but I don't see one addressing antivirus software? Dell?
Considering the alternatives $30. a year is not all that bad.. I can't rebuild a system for that price but having several systems one admits the price adds up..
