Poor performance
I have a Dimension 4400,running Windows XP.In the last few days, programs have been opening very slowly, then not responding after they are open. I have done all the general maintenence. Removed unnecessary programs,disk cleanup,defrag,antivirus scan,spyware scan but so far nothing has seemed to help.Anybody have any other suggestions? I just cant think of anything else I could do or what I might have missed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is a couple of more things you can do ,delete all your cookies,and click on run and type in msconfig and click on start up and uncheck almost all the programs except norton that is the only one i have checked (ccapp) that is if you have norton anti virus. I defrag a least once a week or even more often if I do home movies I have found that the program AD-aware6 is a great program for geting rid of any bugs in your registery, I found by using that program i had over 18 files in my registery infected that program removed them all and everything is running just great
