Precision T5500 does not supported memory configuration

I purchased from an local supplayer a refurbished Precision T5500.  Single CPU (QuadCore Intel Xeon X5570) with 8 GB (4x2GB) of ECC registered Ram, 1066MHz.

I upgraded memory with 4GB (2x2GB) and i populated all dimm slots, because in this way the  dimm is populated correctly.

When i start the computer, in the morning, my machine runs about 2-3 minutes and after that freezes. I restart the machine and run without any trouble all day. If i remove 4 GB of Ram, from any slots, my machine starts and runs without problem. This fact occurs even if all drives are off, or if i run from a live cd.

I run every test that i found, including Ram extended test-8hours and everything is ok, without errors. The 2 memory of Ram that i upgraded are identical with the rest.

Please help!

Do you know if 12 GB RAM (8 GB old+4 GB new) is a supported memory configuration?

Unfortunately, specs in the manual don't list supported RAM configs so that doesn't help...

Do you have the latest version of BIOS, A16?

check out the following link -     ajkwa.wordpress.com/2012/03/28/dell-workstation-t5500-memory-configuration

it has a chart detailing the layout and which DIMM slots should be used.
