Hello, everybody. I have just emerged from my workshop with my massively difficult but rewarding project completed.

I have successfully transplanted EVERYTHING between a 2.66 Ghz Dimension 4600 and a 2.0 Ghz Dimension 4500. What can I say, I'm in love with the clam-shell casing on the 4500. In terms of actual work hours, in hindsight, it would probably have been a better bet to get the Dimension 8300 and just saved myself the trouble, but that's gone and done with.

Woo. The 4600 now runs the 4500's parts, and vice versa.

Ehh, I have encountered a problem, though. The case-fans between the 4600 and the 4500 are not interchangeable. The 4600, which is now using the 4500's P4 2.0 Gig, runs wonderfully. However, I DARE NOT turn on the 4500, which now has the 4600's P4 2.66 Gig in it, for fear of ruining that beautiful processor.

Ah... the stupid hood that fits over the heatsink won't fit over the burly 2.66 Gig's apparatus. Plus the case-fan itself is a lot slower.

So, off to Fry's! I pick up a new case fan, which works magnificently. However, the lovely Aero-Flow heatsink I buy does not fit on my motherboard due to the stupid retention brackets that kept Dell's unusual fan-less heatsink on the P4. GROAN. So my quest to find new retention brackets commences.

Anybody know where I might find just a set of brackets?
